UN chief urges more efforts to safeguard stability in Europe and beyond
UN chief António Guterres has urged the world body's influential parties to ‘step up efforts’ to safeguard stability in Europe. Addressing the Security Council today, which met to discuss conflicts in Europe, Mr. Guterres underlined that the UN remains ‘committed’ to supporting a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, in a manner that fully upholds the sovereignty, 'territorial integrity and independence' of the country.
